I Am Not Ready For This

Oh Dear

Uh-Oh

Oh Yes

Yes, these are pictures of our 10-month-old climbing up onto the ottoman that we use to keep him from falling off the step down from the kitchen into the family room. I know walking can’t be that far behind.

We knew he was up to something when, the other night, Danielle went into his room to feed him and then called me in. ‘You have to see this,’ she said.

Sean was sitting up in his crib, only about half awake, just staring at us, bleary-eyed. The next morning, after having been moved into the travel crib by parents suddenly fearful of him climbing out of his regular crib, we found him, again, sitting up. Needless to say, we lowered the crib mattress.

He’s full of surprises this one.

If it makes you feel better, Theo spent months standing before he made up his mind to go anywhere.

This is not an endorsement for delaying appropriate babyproofing …
