The one I discussed above folds, too, which is cool. But it’s not a book. For all the reasons Nan mentioned in her comment, it’s not a book. I heart books.

I don’t like reading things on screens nearly as much as I like reading them on paper. I’m sure there are a lot of technical advances that have fixed some of the more common complaints like “it hurts my eyes” and “its too heavy.” They have probably put some sort of super LCD UVB- ray protective layer on the screen so it does not hurt ones eyes. They probably made it super light so it can fit in your purse, or murse if you happen to carry a man-purse. And clearly, based on the pictures, it folds, so its smaller for said purse/murse scenario. Perhaps someone that has read the article can tell me if I’m on the right track with my assumptions. But my answer still holds. Especially when it comes to books. Do you think this magic folding word screen will have the same fantastic aroma a book does? No, it will not. It will smell like metal and plastic and microchips. Can you stack up several screens under your butt to make you appear taller? Probably not, they would probably break. Can you chase away small animals and bugs with a fold-able screen? I bet its not advisable. Does a screen allow me to show those around me what I am reading so they can impressed with my above average reading level and good taste? Probably not.

Therefore, I will continue to take my reading material in paper form, thank you very much.
