Well, the freelancing news I hinted at a month ago is now official and safe to report. Starting in January 2008 I’m going to have a monthly column in Military Spouse magazine.
This is going to be a new thing for the magazine, which, formerly, has focused on women almost exclusively (because most military spouses are women). In January the magazine is switching from a bimonthly publication to a monthly publication, so the timing is good for them.
It’s good for me, too, since my situation is going to be changing radically in December: Danielle and I are expecting our first kid! So, I’m going to become a work-at-home dad, or WAHD (pronounced like ‘wad,’ as in ‘wad of gum’).
That tangent aside, this blog is not going to become a dad blog a la Alternadad. I’m going to probably have to do some website housekeeping, but, if I can at all help it, I’d like to keep the blog going in basically its original format.
Getting back to Military Spouse, the redesigned website launches November 14, so check it out. As my column appears, I’ll link to it from the blog.

Congrats on the kid, and the new job opportunity – Danelle and I had a little boy at the end of August. Parenthood is fun, and changes EVERYTHING…
