And I am absolutely sick of revising Lithium, which I’ve just finished doing, again. That makes something like five revisions to the complete text. It takes me about four days to read and revise the book if I can spend a couple hours a day on it.
The occasion for this final look was Agent H________ requesting the full manuscript, and I did find a few glaring errors, but most of what I changed was probably fine before the revision. I can see why writers often say they don’t read their own stuff after publication: you always think you can make it better.
I think I can finally say I’ve made the book as good and true as I know how. The full MS and brief bio will head off to New York tomorrow. Wish them luck!
