Kindness to Animals

November 16th, 2006 · No Comments

A couple weeks ago we saw a large dog run across the busy street off which I work, part husky, from the look of it (we thought it was a coyote at first, but that’s another story). It was dusk. The dog just trotted around the Applebee’s parking lot, then disappeared.

This morning, we saw the dog again run across the street, this time through a lot of traffic. Cars slowed and stopped. The dog wandered up the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. One of the drivers who’d stopped for the dog turned into a driveway and called to her. She sniffed the driver’s outstretched hand, and the driver opened the rear door of her Subaru. The dog jumped in and she drove away.
