No Phones, Part 2

The phones are ringing, but I still (for some technical, not easily explained reason) cannot answer them. When I pick up, the line goes dead. So I’m just letting the ugly squat black machine ring.

(Why hasn’t anyone figured out how to design a decent-looking office phone? There hasn’t been a cool-looking phone since the old rotary ones disappeared. Modern phones are a mess of buttons and LEDs and hideous LCD screens that are just not necessary. The extra [extraneous?] buttons have labels under a ‘protective’ plastic screen, which inevitably moisture and dirt get underneath. There are some OK-looking residential models, but not many. Also, some mobile phones are well-designed, but, again, most have a glut of features that make them esthetically annoying.)

And still they ring…
