The City of Newport Welcomes You

July 23rd, 2006 · No Comments

Well, I’m here. Everything is still in a jumble (the dominant color scheme for my current decor is baby poop brown, a.k.a. cardboard), but I wanted to post something just to let my thousands of readers know I’m still alive.

The drive up here was like hell. My car was so full of stuff that I could only see easily out of the driver’s side mirror. If I craned my neck and pushed some stuff out of the way I could see out the passenger’s side mirror. I left at about eight o’clock p.m. and drove through the night because hotel managers apparently hate cats. (Fuckers. I mean, honestly, who hates cats?) The other thing was — and this may sound contradictory — my cats meowed the whole way. It was terrible. But I can hardly blame them. How would you like it if someone tossed you into a crate and drove you to an unknown location twelve hours away?
Once I have the majority of my household goods unpacked, we’ll be back to Business as Usual.
